My hair smells burnt?

I know its coz i straighten it a lot and it does need a cut and the ends are starting to get a bit ratty but im just sick of it. Whenever i go to the hair dresser they never do what i ask, i leave with split ends still and for some reason when i am about to leave and they ask "How is that" i say "yeah thats ok " when all i want to do is scream at them and say "what did you do that for !!". I know i should go to the hair dresser but im putting it off and want to know what i can do in the meantime..

dont straiten it as much do other things w/ it like scrunch it or sumthing there is other things that is in style and it wont kill your hair. and the next time u go to the hair dresser tell that person that u are not happy w/ it and make them fix it. believe me u will like it a lot more if u do do that.

I feel the same way. It kept happening to me for a long time. I waited till I saw someone with great hair and asked them who they go to. I've had the same hair dresser for 2yrs now. It took a while, but you'll be fine.

You should go to another salon or to another person that understands what you want. And since your hair is damaged from all the straightening you should put product on it that protects your hair from heat before straightening it. So it your hair doesn't get worse. Redken has a heat protecter called heat glide and there are a lot of other ones out there to.

you need to cut back washing your hair (sounds nasty but try washing it everyother day) and try to cut back on straightening it.

you and me are on the same boat girl..i feel the same way...i wish i could just step outside my body and cut my own hair...i feel like no one does what i ask them to and its so frustrating to me....these hairdressers have a big attitude and they don't listen like after i screwed up my hair i went for a trim...well the lady wanted to argue with me if i had split ends or not...i thought this is stupid and this conversation is going nowhere...its like the hairdresser had to be right ...she thought she knew it all...well i still went home with split ends and half my head is longer than the other half...go figure that one out...its gotten so bad that even my sister has decided to stop doing her hair all together..she hasn't cut it or colored it nothing...we can't find a decent hairdresser to go to..who actually listens and isn't annoying

go natural for a few weeks and only wash do not blow dry, do not straighten, do not out any sort of heat on it whatsoever!! it will take a while to get it's strength back but you will be happy with the results, and as for the split ends thing, never go into a salon and ask them to cut your split ends, make sure to tell them that they need to cut from 1/2 an inch to an inch off..... it makes your hair so much healthier... good luck
