i want to get a hair, but I haven't gotten a professional one in awhile. Can you take a look at the picture below and tell me what type of hair cut the girl has?

Its Kristen Kreuk, and I have similar hair to her, expect mine is a little thicker. I want a simple hair cut like she has, without bangs or anything.

so does anyone know what its called? Or what should I tell the hair dresser, or should I just give her the picture and say thats what i want?

Take the photo in. Always easier that way. It looks like it's just a below the shoulders cut that is angled upward a little around the face.

im not sure what the hair cut is called.. but it looks like just shoulder length straight no bangs, no layers. or you can print out that pic and take it into ur hairdresser :)

I would give her the pic because she could misinterpret your words but she would havto be a bad stylist not to b able to recreate the style in the pic...

I would tell your stylist that you want long layers. He or she will most likely ask you how long you want the shortest layer to be. Alternatively, you could take a picture with you, or look through their books for something similar to this picture.

They dont really have a name for most hairstyles but like bangs and you know..

They have a book and that says names and has pictures you just show them the picture...

yes, actually there are names for most haircuts...guh. Anyhow...this is a long layer...the hair around the shoulders have been layered all around the head..its not just in the front. You really should just take the pic in. If you want your hair to lay like this, you might need to have your hair thinned with either a razor (the best for this look) or thinning shears...that will help you in controlling it to get it to lay like hers. You might notice too and its a bit scary at first...that the hair dresser will either use a razor in the front or will slide the scissors downward by your face. They could in fact use a razor to cut the entire haircut! Thats how you get the wispy look. I wouldn't tell them that you want it "feathered" by your face, that requires more layering and if you get a hair dresser that doesn't know what you mean, you could actually walk away with more of a Farrah Faucett like haircut. Then them you want it long, light and wispy. Take it from a former Hairdresser (would still be one if my health would allow it) If you don't have a printer or some other reason as to why you can't take the pic in ...then save that pic in a photo bucket account. When you go into the salon, they now all usually have the internet and can pull the pic up for you. Just make it easy on them and yourself and put it in a place that you know its easy to get to. Time is money to them...
