I want bangs but i am scared to get them.?

i want some long sideswept bangs or just like slanted bangs but i am scared to get them because the hair dresser said i would need to cut almost 10 inches of my hair in the front to get them. my hair goes down to midback and i have never cut my hair before. everyone is always telling me not to cut my hair since i am one of the few african americans that have long hair that is not fake. i am mixed with japanese though but i am not sure if my hair will grow back.

I say go for it. Your hair will grow back. You only live once so try new and different things. You may love having bangs but you won't know unless you try it. If you get long, sideswept bangs and have your stylist just barely "frame" your face to blend in with the back there's a good chance(depending on the texture of your hair, of course)that you will be able to blend your new bangs in and disguise them if you do not like them.

Your hair will always grow back. If you want bangs but are unsure of them, get the long sideswept ones, because if you decide you don't like them after you get it cut, they will grow out past your shoulders in just a year or two, and then you won't be able to notice that you ever had bangs. Also, don't cut too much, you don't want to go overboard. You can always cut more later. I think long bangs look cute, especially if you have your hair pulled back and just a wisp of free hair falling to one side of your face.

Do what you think will look best. Styled hair looks better than just plain long hair. Your hair will grow back. You have different hair than most African-Americans. If you don't trust your hairdresser, try getting a second opinion from someone who specializes in your type of hair. Good luck.

alright, so you want them, get them! If you don't like it, you can clip it. If your hair is already that long, then it will grow back, it has that capibility.
