Okay, I'm getting my hair cut next weekend and I want to get those long, sideswept bangs that are in style right now, how do I describe them to my hair dresser, O, and any one have any ideas for a cut for someone with thick, unruly hair, to make it lie flat and straight? Thanx!

I would say get loads of layers and get it thinned.

I had normal sort of hair but I just wanted it thinner and I put loadsa layers in and now it's really thin and it's great.spesh for summer.

Your hairdresser will be able to thin it out aswel.So it'll sit better.

take a picture of reese witherspoon or nicole richie with you to show your stylist their bangs. i think they both have good ones. make sure she doesn't cut them bluntly straight across, that is what little girls wear! you don't want to look like Mena Suvari. for thick, unruly hair you could try something that is smoothing like pantene smooth and sleek or something similiar. it works great to smooth everything out and tame frizzies.

I think they are called side bangs, but you could let your bangs grow out. Grown out bangs go great with thick hair. Also, if you want to, use a hair straightener to make it the way you want.(If it doesn't work, please don't get mad at me.)

I am very clean and wear nice clothes but I DO NOT diet, lotion-up, do face peels, see a hair dresser, work out to "look good" (there is a difference between beach muscles and real strength) get manicures or pedicures, buy expensive fashion named clothing or have accessories and do not own a Murse (a male purse). I just keep it simple i.e; I get a $5.00 hair cut every couple of weeks, shave my face with a Gillette when I feel like it, bite my nails, shower daily (and more after a game of soccer or a run) and wear Tag body spray to smell ok but not fancy. I attract female attention easily but do not get over-confident and do not approach women.

Sounds good, layers are always great. Don't straighten it though, the stylist will probably want to wash your hair anyway so there's no point. Just tell him/her that you usually straighten it and they will be able to work with that. They will know what your hair would look like if straight.

Also remember, if you go in with a definate idea of what you want or, even better, a picture, and the hairdresser messes it up you can always refuse to pay, if it's not what you want. But if you go in unsure then you don't have as solid a leg to stand on if it's not exactly what you want.

I wouldnt staighten it before you go to the hairdressers because if she cut it that way while it was straightened then it wouldnt look like that every other day unless you straightened you hair.

i think it'll look ok if u have a thin face....no u shouldn't straighten it because when u get it washed it should straighten then...if u aren't getting it washed yes straighten it because that is how u are going to wear it. but don't overly straighten it. also if u have voluminous hair don't get layers because then it'll look really poofy, but if u don't go ahead and get layers.

I live in a small town and have always cut my own hair and my daughters' hair. My two oldest daughters however are getting older and they would like to go to a salon to get their hair cut. I'm all for it. I could use the break. :)

I can never do anything with my hair as it is so thick.

Recently, I have been pinning it back just behind my ears, which looks nice.

There is also a bun you can do, which I love, but it takes some time.

Let me try to explain - pull your hair into a half ponytail or ponytail, (whichever works for you), then take a section of hair, twirl it round on itself and pin it to your head, repeat this until the whole (half) ponytail is pinned.

It took me ages to get through this , if you can get the back in a wee pony tail you can put it up with a slide clasp and leave the sides. It WILL grow ok, Dont spend ages at the mirror its never as bad as you think. Good Luck.
