How can I make my curls last all day?

Ok. Here's the deal:

I went to get my hair trimmed. She washed it, cut it, then styled it. I told her to curl my hair, and the result was beautiful. The curls also stayed in all day long.

I then, a few days later tried to "copy" what my hair dresser had done for me, and the curls stayed in for about 15min. then fell out.

I use a Conair InstantHeat curling iron- 1 1/4inch.

and as for my hair products--Pantene 2in1 smooth%26amp;sleek shampoo and Pantene Style curl shaper anti-frizz creme.

Yet, my curls just will not stay. Any tips on how to make them stay? I am curling my hair incorrectly?

Please help. I have a big event coming up, and I want my hair to look nice.

Its also a good idea to ask your stylist what products she used. It might also have something to do with your shampoo. It might be making your hair to smooth and styles won't stay in very long.
